At the Ingram College Prep Center (formerly Ingram Test Prep), we take standardized testing and college-level math and science tutoring seriously, but we think learning should be fun!

The first question you should pose to any SAT tutoring agency is the test score of the tutor who will be working with your student. You have to know the material to be able to teach it. We are proud to say that all of our tutors have perfect and near perfect scores at the 99th percentile and higher.

Not only are we experts at the material, we also know how to motivate students to put in the hard work necessary to achieve outstanding results of their own, with students regularly exceeding their own score goals, in fewer hours than they imagined. We each have track records of significant student score improvement at all score levels, from students who need remedial help and with special needs, to students aiming to get an SAT 1500+ and/or ACT 34+. We teach content and strategies in Reading, Science, English, and Math. We motivate students and inspire confidence in their abilities that helps them achieve their SAT and ACT goals, as well as to earn top grades in AP Physics, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus, College Algebra, AP Statistics, and more.

With over 15 combined years working as SAT/ACT test preparation and advanced math and science tutors, Mel Ingram, Henry Beavers, and Ryan Bradley are continuously refine their tutoring methods. We work as a team to find solutions to each aspiring college student’s needs.

If you’re ready to earn a great score on the SAT, ACT, GRE, LSAT, or in your advanced math and science coursework, you’ve come to the right place. We offer one-on-one tutoring, small group SAT/ACT classes, as well as mock SAT/ACT practice tests, all at the office in Cocoa Village.

Note: The next official SAT dates are May 7, 2022; June 4, 2022; August 27, 2022. The next official ACT dates are June 11, 2022; July 16, 2022; September 10, 2022. All universities, as well as Bright Futures, accept either test without preference.
Note: Class of 2024 students are encouraged to start SAT/ACT preparation now! Rising juniors (or any time after the completion of Algebra II) are at the ideal moment to invest in test preparation, if the goal is several hundred points improvement before application season kicks off in the fall of the senior year.
Note: Class of 2022 students have until June 30, 2022, to submit test scores for the Bright Futures scholarship. The required SAT scores are 1210 and 1330 -OR- ACT scores 25 and 29, for 75% and 100% tuition coverage, respectively, at any Florida public university. At this time, we are no longer accepting Class of 2022 students looking to improve scores before the Bright Futures deadline.

Happy Families

Mel Ingram is wonderful! My son took a 6 week ACT prep course with Mel. He bettered is original score of 27 with a 31, which qualified him for the Bright Futures’ Florida Academic Scholars (FAS) covering 100% of his in-state college tuition. Money well spent.

When my daughter was struggling with her college entrance exams, I once again turned to Mel. With Mel’s help, my daughter also raised her score multiple points. Just recently, Mel helped her study for a college Algebra final. She nailed it with a 90% after receiving average scores most of the semester.

But, more important than the test scores was the confidence Mel instilled in my daughter. She left every tutoring session feeling smarter, believing that she could and would do well. For that, I will forever be grateful. Mel has the amazing ability to break down concepts and reach students on their level. I cannot recommend Mel Ingram enough.

The proof is in the pudding. As a direct result of the ACT score my daughter was able to achieve after Mel tutored her, she was offered USF’s and UCF’s top merit scholarships – $20K and $30K respectively. That’s an awesome return on investment! And more offers are likely once other schools decide on admissions. Mel is a great tutor and a great person for a teenager to look up to. Highly recommend.

Set up a free consultation

Working one-on-one with a tutor is all about customization. We strive to meet each student’s needs, and we like to know as much as possible about the student’s academic background, the family’s needs, and the goals for the program of study.

A 30-minute in-office or virtual consultation is how we’ll get started! At least one parent(s) or other interested party should attend. (Sometimes a grandparent, a relative, or a family friend arranges the student’s classes; these parties’ input is welcome.) The student should also attend. We’ll talk about test prep, college admissions, scheduling and the test prep timeline, as well as the student’s academic background. For Spring 2022, consults are generally available Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, 9-9:30pm, and on Fridays, 6:15-6:45pm.

Small Group Classes

Engaging, dynamic small group instruction.

Spring 2022 group classes are now underway! You can enroll at any time; classes are designed so that new students can start at any point. There are three different class levels available this semester. Each group class meets weekly and is limited to five students.

For Starting SAT scores 820-1050: Tuesdays, 7:30-9pm, $50
For Starting SAT scores 1050-1170: Thursdays, 6-8pm, $60
For Starting SAT scores 1170+: Wednesdays, 7-9pm, $60

Each two-hour session is $60, paid by credit/debit card only, at the time of the session or through the pay link in the confirmation email.

What’s included, and what are classes like?

All group classes are led by Mel. With a maximum of 5 students, your learner absolutely gets individualized attention in every class. All course materials are included – there’s no need to purchase additional supplies or books.  We use only official, previously released exams in our prep. In each class, we work through chunks of material in the SAT and the ACT, across all sections of the test – Reading, Writing and Language (English), Math, and Science – that have been carefully selected for each group’s score level. Students work through practice problems at their own pace while Mel helps every student in turn. For questions that stump everybody, we come together for mini-lessons. Students enjoy the active learning, which is one of the best ways to learn (and retain) new material.

When can I start?

We’ve designed the group classes to be self-contained units so that no student will come in feeling “behind” the other students, so you can start anytime.
